Duramed FUTURES Tour Announces Three-Year Agreement To Keep Professional Golf In Daytona Beach

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Jan. 28, 2009 – The Duramed FUTURES Tour announced today that it has agreed to a three-year commitment with iMPACT Ventures, LLC to become title sponsor of the inaugural iMPACT Invitational.

The $100,000 Duramed FUTURES Tour tournament will be contested April 3-5, at LPGA International Golf Club, in the first year of the company’s three-year agreement to sponsor a tournament in Daytona Beach.

“In a time of economic challenges for all businesses, we believe that this long-term commitment is great news for the golf fans of Daytona Beach and Central Florida,” said Zayra F. Calderon, CEO of the Duramed FUTURES Tour. “We are pleased to be partnering with iMPACT Ventures to provide families in Daytona Beach with an affordable entertainment option.”

A high-tech strategic consulting firm based in Chantilly, Va., iMPACT Ventures came aboard as the tournament’s sponsor when Bobby Christian, the company’s founder and managing partner, agreed to back the event and keep it in the hometown of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA).

"We look at this event as a strategic, long-term branding opportunity for us," said Bobby Christian, CEO of iMPACT Ventures. "We carefully chose this event and the Duramed FUTURES Tour because it aligns with what our company is all about: developing future leaders who excel in their field.”

The iMPACT Invitational is projected to inject an estimated $300,000 into the city’s economy each year.  The tournament will bring upwards of 200 people to Daytona Beach for a week of tournament-related festivities.

The Southeast Central Florida Chapter of the American Lung Association continues as the tournament’s charity, a role it has played since 2008, when the event debuted in Daytona Beach as the AMERICAN SYSTEMS Invitational.

The 54-hole tournament will be the second of two Duramed FUTURES Tour events staged in Central Florida. The 2009 season kickoff event is set for March 20-22, in Winter Haven, Fla., followed by the tournament in Daytona Beach at The Legends Course at LPGA International.
