While some countries do not recognize or sanction the event it is the most dominant women’s golfing tour around the world. The golf tournament usually starts in the first part of July with big winnings of up to $4.5 million dollars up for grabs. The next women’s open will be hosted in the foothills of the scenic Santa Cruz Mountains on a golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr.
Both amateurs and professionals alike will have the chance to play for some huge winnings and the tournament promises some exciting play. This sporting event will mark the 71st U.S. Women’s Open and only the third ever hosted in California. The event will be broadcast around the globe and the CordeValle offers a gorgeous backdrop of hills that really will stand out against the rich green fairways. The course lays out over 11.2 acres that challenge the golfers with 68 well-designed bunkers.
The Fairways are broad but there are plenty of tricky water hazards just waiting for any golfer that gets off track with any given shot. Every shot must be well planned as heavy grass and oak trees are awaiting any ball that wonders of the course. These women golfer will be facing several half-shot penalties if they become distracted from any given shot. In 2011 and 2015 the CordeValle Golf course hosted the PGA Cup for players from Britain, Ireland and the USA. This year’s Women’s USA Golf Championship is really expected to bring some amazing players both young and old and the competition will truly be an exciting fun event that any golfer or fan will love.
